With the rising digitalization and technological feats over the past decade, man’s way of life has taken a new turn. While some of these changes get easily noticed, much attention has not been direct towards others. Amongst this rarely noticeable change is the crucial topic of books and reading format.

The introduction of computers and smartphones have changed people’s reading culture and habits over time. People are beginning to become more comfortable reading from their smartphones and computer screens than their conventional books. The availability of e-books over the web makes reading over screens more easy and comfortable for people.

In the past couple of years, e-books have become a significant item and a powerful publishing industry trend. However, with the growth of e-books, a subsequent decline of printed books has not materialized; instead, the two formats have existed simultaneously.

The choice on which book format to choose is more of a personal decision by consumers. While review websites such as norskeanmeldelser.no can help consumers decide on books worth reading, they can’t help fix what book format a consumer would choose. The following are each book’s format’s pros and cons and why readers may prefer one to the next.

PRINT BOOKS

Print books, also known as the traditional reading method, have some advantages over e-books. That includes the ability to hold and feel them, which many readers love. One can keep it, turn the pages, and handle the paper. Another advantage of printed books for those who like to read is the less strain on a reader’s eyes than an electronic device or e-reader. While printed books may be fun, a disadvantage of them over the e-book include:

·        Cost of printing

Printed books are usually more costly to print than e-books and, therefore, more expensive. Print books have a significant amount of overhead costs, including utilities, office space, and salaries for employees that large publishers have to bear. That also includes other attributed costs from printing the books, editing, marketing, and distribution process.

·        Difficulty in handling

Paper books can be challenging to carry around, especially hardcover books. An avid reader would have problems having to pack books into the luggage when going on a trip, whereas an e-reader or iPad is far easier to take.

·        Uncertainty

Printed books pose a greater risk of uncertainty for publishing house than e-books. The cost of printing may be irrecoverable if the author’s work becomes unsuccessful. This cost of uncertainty usually gets spread over the selling price of the initial books.

E-BOOKS

E-books are a growing alternative to printed papers and are seldom less expensive than their paper counterparts. The ease in getting and transmission makes it even more attractive to people. One can store thousands of e-books on a single device, and the font’s flexibility of e-books accommodates diverse readers. However, there are some disadvantages to an e-book.

·       Electronic readers

An e-book usually requires electronic devices to read them-devices that must be recharge on a daily. Some of … Read More..

Coronavirus brought about a lot of people having more time on their hands since most offices embraced remote working. While many spent this period unproductively, a lot of people went on to achieve great things. For instance, some people retake their studies. Here are the reasons why the pandemic season is the best time to do that:

You have fewer things to do

The pandemic brought a halt to most activities. Physical gatherings were cancelled, offices had to lock their doors and embrace remote working while some stopped working altogether. As such, you have more time to look after yourself and family since most activities have been taken off your plate. You can devote some of your free time into retaking your studies. Since physical schools will not be open, you can read online academy reviews on Britainreviews to know which online platform you can retake you studies.

You have more resources

Because a lot of things were grounded because of the virus, most institutions made comprehensive resources available. A lot of these resources are free for whoever wants to learn from it. You can access high-quality knowledge at little or no cost and get certified by recognized bodies. You could also join learning networks to provide support and encouragement for students.

However, the coronavirus period is not the best time to retake your studies. A lot of people were shocked by the onset of the virus, some families had to go through difficult times as businesses went under, some families grieved because they lost loved ones to the virus. These gloomy periods cannot encourage anyone who is experiencing them to retake their studies. As such, the best time to retake your studies is whenever you feel you are ready in all aspects. You do not have to force yourself to do it this pandemic season if you are not up to it.

Here is a list of other things you can do this pandemic season:

Reflect on your life

Before the virus hit the world, almost everyone was rushing through life- rushing to work, rushing home, rushing to drop the kids, rushing to work on their assignments, etc. Not many people took time out to properly rest and reflect on their activities. But the virus provided this opportunity; since major places are on lockdown, people now have more time to rest and to think about how they have been living their lives. For this reason, they can switch paths if necessary to find the fulfilment they have always wanted.

Take care of yourself

There is no better time than this season to take care of yourself. A lot of people have neglected self-care a long time ago. If you can, go for a checkup. Know the state of every vital organ of your body. Know your blood pressure and sugar level. Seek advice on any discomfort you experience. Make an audit of your foods and cut off the unhealthy things you eat. Incorporate more healthy foods into your diet. … Read More..

Home School
There are several things that you have to remember when you are ready to find a home school teacher. In order for the home school chief administrator to obtain a DEC to issue to the student, the North Carolina home school must be currently registered with the North Carolina Division of Non-Public Education and be currently meeting all North Carolina laws governing the operation of the home school.

The kids enjoy the flexibility of being able to work at their own pace and the online curriculum we use lets them work on their own level no matter what grade they would be assigned to in a traditional classroom. Deschooling: You might need to begin slowly and give your family time adjust to the change.

We welcome all regardless of homeschooling method or style. We hope to define and embrace a homeschooling community where each member contributes to the whole. In addition, Families Learning Together offers regular family-centered gatherings in camp settings that allow families to informally discuss home schooling with others in a relaxed atmosphere with daily activities planned for the entire family.

Read on to know more about Public Schools. On the other hand, in public schools, students mostly learn many general things all on their own. Whether you are switching from a different curriculum or are homeschooling for the first time, A.C.E’s complete K-12 program can help your homeschool succeed.

Home Schooling

Home School
The decision to homeschool your child is a personal decision made by families and parents and the district will support that decision according to the guidelines set forth by the Minnesota Department of Education. The increasing diversity of home schoolers and institutional configurations should not obscure the fact that many who home school still choose this option out of frustration with or protest against formal, institution-based schooling and seek to impart an alternative, usually conservative Christian, worldview to their children by teaching them at home.

There are several lifestyle and academic benefits to choosing a homeschool education for your student. By 2006, 18 states had a combined total of 147 virtual charter schools educating over 65,000 students. Enroll in a public charter school for homeschoolers. Homeschools use a wide variety of methods and materials.

Home-schooling diploma services have multiplied across the country, as have honor societies like the Houston-based Eta Sigma Alpha Many states have begun to extend to home schoolers the popular dual-enrollment programs (sometimes called Running Start”) that allow high-school students to enroll for free in classes at local colleges.

Home

Formal school education for all children is a concept that is only about three hundred years old. Students often use textbooks and worksheets in additional to any online homeschooling programs. And in some extreme cases, home schooling has been used by parents and guardians to hide physical abuse of children. Basically, we wanted to know what you want to know about the square pegs in the round hole of a school system that seems to be set up to elevate students from more … Read More..
